Lil’ Inker Designs Release Hop Day 3 ~

Hello!  Welcome back to the final day of the Lil’ Inker Designs March Release hop!  You should’ve arrived here from the lovely Laura’s blog.  You can bop on back there to get the full blog roll list or hop right along to Amazing Amy and follow along from there.

I just couldn’t get enough of the new Spring Flowers dies so I had to do one last card for this release with those.

Alyssa flowers

Super clean and simple here.  Using more papers from the Crate Paper Love Notes pack, I die cut the Instant Camera die to frame the sentiment.  It’s made with the brand spanking new and fabuloso Mixed & Stitched Alphabet dies.  Aren’t they so fun?!?  They’re a mixture of upper and lowercase letters with the signature Lil’ Inker Designs stitching.  The flower is scored and semi folded along the stitching lines to give more dimension to this beautiful flower.

Ok, that’s all folks! Don’t forget to comment along the way for your chance at three $15 gift certificates to Lil’ Inker Designs!!

Lil’ Inker Designs Release Hop Day 2 ~

Hi there! Welcome back to the second day of the Lil’ Inker Designs March release hop! You should have arrived here from the Lil’ Inker Designs blog run by the uber talented Laura.  If not, you can hop back there to see a full list of hoppers.

This month’s theme is super Springy, so I thought I’d get a jump on Easter this year.  My boy is finally requesting cards from me for anything and everything, and since he has his mamma wrapped around his little finger, I am happy to oblige.

This little guy started out as a tag using the Anytime Tags.  I added a sweet little bunny with a fluffy (and sparkly!) tail atop a grass punched lawn.  The flower is from the new Spring Flowers dies.  I covered the center with some yellow glitter.  When making the flower, I thought that it could also work as a sun, so out came the clouds too.  Before I knew it, I didn’t have room for a sentiment, so this tag got popped onto a card.  Still no room for the sentiment I wanted to use!  Guess I’d better decorate the inside too!

Even though this is the inside of this card, it could easily stand on it’s own.  “Happy Easter” is from the new Spring Sentiments.  The eggs are from the Spring Flowers set as well – they can be used as eggs or leaves.  So fun!  Love when I can use my dies for more than one purpose!

Your next stop is Amazing Amy! Don’t forget to comment along the way for your chance at three $15 gift certificates to Lil’ Inker Designs!! Thanks for stopping by!

Lil’ Inker Designs Release Hop Day 1 ~

LID_New Logo for Team and Retailer Use Without Web Address

Welcome to the March release hop for Lil’ Inker Designs!  Today is super exciting because not only are we releasing 3 new stamp sets and 5 new die sets, but Lil’ Inker Designs got a make over!  Such a pretty new design too!  We’d also like you to give a warm welcome to Erin Lee Schreiner – our latest and greatest Design Team member and Director of Social Media!  Whoot!!   Amongst all this happiness there is a bit of sad too – the amazing Alicia is no longer with us.  She’ll be doing wonderful things I’m sure!!  Bop on over to her blog to say farewell and thanks for all the eye candy through the years!

Ok, this is a release hop and I’m sure you want to get to the goodies.  You should’ve arrived here from Laura’s fabulous blog if you’re hopping along the entire hop.  Today, I thought I’d show you Rat Race.  The first moment I saw this set, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.

lid maze

I used the beautiful heart paper from Crate Paper as the backdrop.  Don’t you just love it??  It reminds me of the whole bokeh effect and is so pretty.

lid maze detailThe maze is embossed to raise it just a bit.  My brain went straight to a little game my kiddo got in a birthday goodie bag, so I found a little silver ball and glued it at the entrance.  It’s a little hard to see, but the solution to it is stamped in a soft pink – Ranger Distress Spun Sugar.

The sentiment flag is cut from another piece of the Love Notes paper pack.  I added a Stitched Heart from the Of the Heart Dies layered with a wooden heart from my stash.

Ok, you’ve stuck around here long enough.  Head on over to Amazing Amy's fantastic blog!  Don’t forget to comment along the way for your chance at three $15 gift certificates to Lil’ Inker Designs!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Last one, I swear ~

At least for a while anyway!  Feather card that is…I just couldn’t stop with the feathers!  This is another of the sympathy cards that I needed.  I also played along with the watercoloring challenge on Virginia’s View Challenge.  It’s her first challenge and it’s taking off like crazy!

I started by heat embossing the feather and sentiment on watercolor paper.  I then just started blending some mellow colors from the metallic watercolor set that I’ve been playing with a ton.  Funny thing is that I’ve had this set for probably 6 years and used it once, totally forgot about it and pulled it out with the new craze that has hit stamping nation.

This is a better shot of the shimmer – very pretty in real life.  I think I may have to give this challenge another go with actual watercolors bc these are thick and somewhat hard to work with.

Thanks for looking!  Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!!

Feather Frenzy ~

I’ve been in a feather frenzy lately…I just can’t stop creating with these classic beauties!  3 very special ladies in my life all had birthdays at the beginning of the month within 4 days of each other.  While I was playing with some metallic watercolors the other day, I decided to play with the feathers again and stuck with a layout that I’d used on my first feather card.

annie bday 14

The background is stamped with Hero Arts Soft Pool and Brilliance and Brilliance Galaxy Gold.  I drew faint pencil lines to make sure I lined these up correctly.  This is actually the second one I did.  I forgot to erase the lines before adding the gold and it didn’t erase so well.  Oh well, live and learn!

annie bday 2014 (1) The largest feather is watercolored with metallic gold paint.  These paints are so fun and shimmery!  The vellum feather is drawn on with a Sakura glitter pen and watercolored to spread the glitter around.  And the top feather is accented with the same glitter pen and some Ranger distress markers.  Pretty simple and fun to add all the detail.  The beautiful sentiment is from Wplus9 Designs – Embroidered Bouquet.  I love the swirly font!  I’m such a girl – lol!  And since this little ditty went to one of my favorite ladies and was made with her in mind, I’m entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Special Girl.

All righty!  I’ll try to come up with something a little different the next time I post.  I’m sorry I’ve been absent!  We went to California for an international Natural Products Expo and Disneyland (of course!) (can’t have business without a little pleasure!!)   On another note, in just a few days I’ll be back with the newest release from Lil’ Inker Designs!  LOTS of fun goodies for this one!
