Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop ~

Hi there!  I’m bopping in with a simple little card for the July 2013 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop: Fruits of Summer Color Inspiration.  I chose this grapefruity combo as a jumping point.  I’m not a huge fan of my melon berry ink though, so I went with raspberry fizz.  Creative license and all…

The set I used here is Four of a Kind – one of those that you got only with a $100 order or something.  I actually got mine off the forum.

Have fun on the hop!  Thanks for stopping by!

Sensational ~

As promised, I’m back with another reject.  I submitted this card twice as well – once to the Birthday Creations call that is now in print, and to the Banner Birthday call that just passed.

The background paper is so adorable – it’s October Afternoon Cakewalk cut with the Stitched Rectangles from Lil’ Inker Designs.  I adore this one die just for the size of the mat.  It makes the perfect CAS card.  The 7 is die cut about four times and adhered together then smooshed into the really old PTI Sweet Blush ink pad for that creamy chalky look.  The stars are from My Favorite Things and are smooshed into the old ink pads as well – aqua mist, sweet blush and spring moss.

I’m entering this into the Moxie Fab World: Birthday Creations Birthday Card Challenge, as well as the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: #110 Numbers.  We’re off to go truck shopping…I hope it doesn’t take too long!  I want to play with some new goodies.  Have a super day!

I-shadow Ikat ~

Hola!  Silly, punny title, I know, but I just couldn’t resist.  You’ll see what I mean in a minute.  Did you all submit to the Paper Crafts Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters?  I did and got one card picked up!  Yay!  This card is a reject, but I realize it wasn’t really a DIY embellishment, so it makes sense.  I used the same pattern from this card with the combo of Wplus9 and PTI Ikat sets stamped in VersaMark on black…

I used eye shadow to color the card.  I was thinking of how I’ve seen a bunch of Perfect Pearls being used lately.  Instead of running out and buying more supplies I don’t need, I used some eye shadow (that I’ll probably never wear! Ha!) to color this card.

The sentiment is embossed on a vellum banner that is wrapped around the front and adhered to the back of that focal panel.  Since it’s kind of a ‘banner’, I also submitted it for the Banner Birthday call.  It just wasn’t it the cards for this one!  Wow…I’m just full of bad puns today :)

I’m linking this up in the Moxie Fab World: Birthday Card Challenge…you know, because third time is the charm, right?  Have a super day, my friends!  I’ll be back with some more publication rejects soon ;)

Fresh Cut Floral Love Affair ~

Hello!  I want to bop in real quick with a card I made for my nephew’s girlfriend.  It’s inspired by a few challenges too

Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try: SFYTT #2

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: #109 Polka Dots

Monday Mood Board: #16

I’m having a total love affair with Wplus9 Design’s Fresh Cut Florals.  They are just so pretty and fun to stamp different color combos.  I only wish I had my mother’s floral designing skills!  I spend so much time trying to get everything just right.  lol

The polka dot background is masked off with some post it notes.  Don’t look too closely though…I’m not sure it’s perfectly straight!  Lots of different inks on here too.  I’m having the hardest time finding a pale yelllow that I like, but this Memento Dandelion is nice when stamped off once.

Hope you’re having a nice weekend!  I’m off to help the hubby with one of his motorcycles.  At least he let me get some crafty time in first!  :)
