May Sketch for You To Try ~

Hello again!  I cannot believe that May is almost over!!  It really is true that time slips by faster as you get older.  {sigh}  The number one thing on my to-do list today was to finish a card for May’s Sketch for You to Try.  I haven’t kept up with my own resolution of creating a regular card and a Christmas card with the sketch, so I have to at least fulfill half of it!  lol

I chose to make a sweet little baby card #1 because I had the girl already all stamped out and die cut and #2 because it was the first image I saw in my head when I saw the sketch.  I also used the current JUGS challenge #138: Inspiration photo.  I used the colors, stripes and theme.

And we have a winner!  I got a whopping 6 comments on this giveaway post.  Hmm, perhaps business cards are not what my fellow papercrafters are that interested in??  lol  Oh well!  It's lucky number 3...

PTI May Blog Hop ~

Hello again!  This is my second post for today!  Crickets for weeks and then three posts in one week!  I'm back today with the Papertrey Ink May blog hop.

This month the inspiration picture has a lot of pattern and texture to it.  I was inspired by the argyle and the black/white/green color combo.  I really needed some inspiration to get the 6 father's day cards I need done, so thanks PTI!
I stamped the leaves in Memento New Sprout and London Fog.  The sentiment and argyle strip are stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed with filigree ep.  Very CAS and very easy to mail!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have fun along the hop!  If you're interested, I have a giveaway going on for 250 standard size, 4 color, double sided business cards.  All you have to do is enter a comment here.  I'm going to use mine as my crafty cards to send out with cards I make and hand out at events.  Have a super weekend!  :o) lyss

ETA: I found the set of cards that I had saved on my phone to CASE one day.  You can click here to see the gorgeous originals.

Flashback Friday Challenge #24 ~

Hey there!  Hope you all are doing great!  I was selected on the last Flashback Friday challenge to be a Guest Designer for the new challenge!  How fun is that?  Flashback Friday Challenge #24 is your first masculine card.  The challenge runs May 25 - June 15, midnight Pacific daylight time.  Our sponsor is the one and only Perfect Presentation!
The winner will get to choose 3 templates in any format they'd like!  Super cool!
I had a hard time choosing which one was my first man card.  This is the first I did with the intention of sending to a man, my dad.  The other two cards were little boy pirate cards.  Do those count?  Yes, but this is a bit more masculine and less kiddy.  ;o)
My second brayering attempt - not too bad and not too great.  Come to think of it, I never tried again after this!  lol
Ok, time for you to hop on to the rest of the crew!  Here's the list:
Alyssa {that's me!}

Don't forget about my giveaway post below!  There's still time to comment!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have fun on the hop!  :o) lyss

PrintRunner Giveaway ~

business card2
Hi there, friends!  I was recently contacted by PrintRunner to see if I would like to host a giveaway of their fabulous products on my blog.  This offer couldn’t have come at a better time for me!  Seriously, about 2 weeks ago I worked an event with a good friend of mine (the one that owns the baby store that sells my cards).  She offered to allow me to sell my other cards while I was there helping her man her booth.  I got a ton of interest, and a few sales, but mainly I was asked if I had a business card so peeps could contact me later with a special need.  I.don’t.have.one.  I’ve tried to make them in the past and didn’t like my design or didn’t have ink for the printer or didn’t have the right color paper or whatever!  Along comes PrintRunner…
PrintRunner started about 10 years ago on “little more than a small press and a dream.”  They now provide all kinds of online printing options like business cards, stickers, bookmarks, postcards, banners, posters, flyers – seriously, the list goes on and on!    PrintRunner is offering one of my readers 250 four color standard business cards (color on both sides!).  How cool is that?
It’s easy to enter:
1.  For one entry, leave a comment on this post
2.  For an additional entry, *like* PrintRunner on facebook and leave another comment saying you did this.
This contest will be open until May 27.  I will announce a winner on May 28, 2012.

Don't need business cards?  Well, enter anyway!  What a great way to send *Save the Date* cards or another announcement of some sort.  Utilize them for your kid's lawn mowing or baby sitting business, or donate them to your church.  Lots of possibilities for these!

Thank you, to PrintRunner, for hosting this giveaway!  I will also receive a set of 250 business cards…like I said, couldn’t have come at a better time!  Have a super day!  Smile lyss

Flashback Friday 23 - Butterfly ~

Hi there!  I decided to play along with the Flashback Friday challenge again this week.  Seriously, what an easy challenge...all you have to do is link up the first time you made something showcasing their current call.  No new card to make!  And the blog stays semi-active!  WooHoo :o)  Ok, so this Flashback Friday #23 is Butterflies.  I had to search back to May of 2008 for my step-daughter's birthday card.  I think this is the first handmade card I ever made her.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you all are doing fantabulous!  :o) lyss

H B 2 U ~

Hello there, friends!  I have a quick little post today with a card I’m sneaking in for a challenge.  I have also been playing along with my photo a day for May, but I have a Mother’s Day tea in an hour at Z’s school and I haven’t showered yet!  Eeekkk!!  So I’ll have to come back later to upload those.  Anyhow, this is  a card I submitted for publication a while back that I was *positive* would be picked up…it wasn’t!  Since I haven’t posted it, I thought I’d submit it for the multiple prizes available for the birthday challenge at CAS-UAL Fridays.  It’s their birthday this week!  Woo Hoo!  Happy birthday!!

llife sub pub

I used the negative space of the alphabet dies from PTI to add a *texty* sentiment.  Yes, that is totally a word!  The 2 is from a Cuttlebug alphabet die.  The sentiment strips are up on dimensionals and the 2 is glued straight down.  Not completely CAS but as close as you’re going to get from this gal right about now.  Anyway, I better go hop in that shower!  Have a fabulous day!!  :o) lyss

Photo a Day

Ok, I'm doing it.  I will jump on the bandwagon and take a photo a day for May.  I probably will only post once a week, but we'll see.  I need to connect with my friends that live in the computer again! ;o) lyss
