Hey there! I have to at least partially keep up with my new year’s resolution of doing every SFYTT. There’s a chance at a rather large prize at the end for those that complete the sketch for every month…nothing like a shot in the dark to keep up my mojo! lol
In all honesty, I need the push to create right now. The beginning of May is a very important card making time for me – there’s Mother’s Day {that means at least 5 cards – mom, mil, grammy and sil x2} plus my step-daughter’s bday {17 this year – aack!} and my grammy {95 this year – holy s@#t she’s seen a lot in her lifetime!}. Well, I have all of 1 card done! Go me! (eye roll)
Here’s my mom’s card using the current sketch for you to try – today is the deadline for submissions.
The poppies are from There She Goes stamps and are embossed before I colored them with Copics. The background is stamped in the new-ish PTI Kraft ink. Love it! I added a small white gel pen dot to the centers. The papers are from a couple different October Afternoon packs – Thrift Shop & Campfire. The black raffia is actually recycled from a Xmas gift my mom gave me. Growing up, we always had to save the wrapping paper and bows from year to year. Once the folds got too crummy, then we’d use it as fire starter. Guess that whole saving every little scrap habit is a hard one to break! Oh, and sorry about the shine on the photo…I don’t have a lightbox and can’t figure out how to take a picture of something embossed without the shine.
Since TSG posted their new challenge today of May flowers, TSG154, I thought I’d add this is there too! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all are having a great start to your week! lyss
