iCopic Color Challenge #15 ~

Hi!  Just going to post some quick color challenge cards here today...having a pretty ugh type of day, so I'll skip all the chatter and whatnot.  The iCopic color challenge for this week will get you in the mood for Valentine's day - red, pink and purple.  Funny thing...when I was about 6 or 7 years old, I hated these colors together.  I even told my mom once that it was just wrong to put red and pink together!  lol  It was on a new ski jacket and I thought it was just the ugliest color combo.  Too funny!  I had fun with this one though.
I've been wanting to use this Whiff of Joy Henry with heart stamp for a while now.  I stamped him out a couple of times and colored him in brown and in gray.  Then I decided to flock the hearts he's holding.  Unfortunately, I only have red felt for the background heart.  The background paper is made with PTI's A Little Argyle and a heart from SP & Company's Rain Boots clear stamp set.

Hope you all are having a fantabulous Monday!  Thank you so very much for stopping by!  I'm off to go try to shake off this funk!!  :o) lyss

Color Challenge Oliver ~

Hi friends!  I'm here to share a little color challenge card with you today.  The iCopic color challenge for this week is a fun one – blue, teal and moss green!  Yummy masculine colors!
One thing that really helps me when building a card is having your color scheme in mind – whether it’s a color challenge that inspires you or some beautiful patterned paper.  I rarely pick my paper first, so what should take just a few minutes to put together ends up taking me hours!!  lol  I chose to use some Basic Grey Oliver papers with The Greeting Farm’s Oliver stamp that you can find in the iCopic store here.
 I usually like to pick out a sketch too - I am so very challenged when it comes to putting cards together!!  LOL  Seriously, sometimes I don't know why I do this craft - I get so pent up in all the little details, it's just ridiculous.  Anyway, this card is for the Club Anya blog - Mystery Monday: CASEing Claudine.
Oliver’s jeans aren’t messed up!  I added a little swipe of E33 to his knees to show that he likes to get a little dirty when he plays!  I wanted one of the dinosaurs to coordinate with the paper that was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I colored the one Oliver is holding with G82 (new in Ciao!) and G85.  Once it was colored, I dotted it with the colorless blender to give his *skin* some texture.  For the little Triceratops, I didn’t have a brick red color Copic.  I added some E18 (new in Ciao!) over the R39 to warm it up.  Here’s a close up
I hope this gives you that extra push to play along with the color challenge!  The prize this week is 4 Copic Ciao markers of your choice!!  Go to this post to find out all the details and get in on some fun.  Thanks for stopping by today! Smile lyss

Here's a list of the additional challenges I'm entering this cute guy in:
7 Kids College Fund #13: Challenge Yourself  (not only hair, black hair!!)  eek!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop ~

Hello ladies and gent!  I'm bopping in today with a card for the Papertrey Ink blog hop for January 2011.  The challenge for this month was to pull out a yet to be used stamp set or even one that was collecting dust...I must admit that I *had* to have the Up, Up & Away set plus additional sentiments when it was first released.  However, I didn't ink it up until now.  I even put it up for sale in the forum thinking it just wasn't my style.  I only had one nibble and chose to keep it.  I'm so glad I did!  This card is large - 5 1/4" square - and the base is acetate.  I also used Fillable Frames #4 - one of my faves from the Frames series.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have fun along the hop!  :o) lyss

Oh So Naughty ~

Hi all!  Here with another card for the iCopic Lover blog!  With Valentine's day right around the corner, I thought I'd focus on coloring with reds and make a naughty little card.  This saucy little cutie is from The Greeting Farm's rubber set, Naughty or Nice.  She is stamped with Tuxedo Black on PTI white and colored with Copics.  Her outfit and horns are colored with R27, R29, R39 and shaded with RV69.  I also used a Red Spica pen on the tips of her horns for a little sparkle!
Here's a little detail shot.  I just had to draw in an iris and give her some smokey eyes ;o)  Still working on that hair coloring, but I'll get it by the end of the year! lol  Know any good blond color combos?  I always struggle choosing hair colors.
The background papers are some PTI pattern paper and a piece of pure poppy embossed with the Textile Texture folder and sponged with Ranger Fired Brick distress ink.
The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and clear heat embossed.
The inside is finished off with another embossed strip and the little devil herself stamped second generation in Fired Brick.  I'm also entering this in the following challenges:

7Kids College Fund #13: Challenge Yourself   {coloring hair}
Copic Creations #42: Something New  {the stamp and RV69 Copic}
Make it Colourful #2: Color with Red  {whoops, missed this one!}
Paper Sundaes #52: Birthday celebration pick a challenge {Valentine's}

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you all are ready for your weekend! Have a great one! :o) lyss

A Thoughtful Amber Girl ~

Hi everyone!!  I'm back today with the last post as a Torchbearer for Amber Ink  :o(  This past month has been so very much fun!  The ladies I was able to work with are all a hoot!  And absolutely, fabulously talented, as well as encouraging!  Just an all around fantastic experience - thank you so much Amber & Pam for allowing me to be part of your December 2010 team!!
I have one last little card to share with you today using the Amber Girl from Rainy Day.  She's colored with Copics with some snazzy paper pieced boots!
I printed her on the background iPaper - Schoolgirl Plaid tiny Goldenrod.  Seriously, if I lived in the Pacific Northwest, I would have to have a fantastic collection of fun pattern rain boots...and maybe matching umbrellas!  lol  I added a few squiggles of a light blue Copic to give a little watery ground and then added a few more squiggles of Eucalyptus Stickles to give a bit more shimmer.  A girl's got to have a little bling!!  lol
Amber looks very thoughtful, so I used a new stamp that my sweet friend, Julie, sent for Christmas. {Thanks again, little lady!!}  A nice big bow and some pearls on the corners finish it off!
Here's a look back at my past month with Amber Ink
Thank you again, Pam & Amber, for all of your encouragement and fabulous comments along the way!  Don't think this will be the last of these wonderful images on my blog!  I'll be playing with these lots more :o)

So...want to know who I'm passing the torch too?  It's the amazing
I *met* Laurie through the PaperTrey Ink forum when she bought one of my stamp sets I was selling.  Turns out that her sister lives very close to me, so we *chatted* a few times over email, and I became a quick follower of her blog.  I adore, and am envious, of her CAS style and flawless design!  Make sure you stop by her blog, Soapbox Creations, and leave her some love!
Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you all are having a marvelous week!  :o) lyss

Perfect Presentation January Winner ~

Thank you for all your sweet comments on my Be Mine!  Since I can never seem to figure out how to capture the little widget from random.org, I just asked my hubby to pick a number between 1 and 22 - no surprise, he picked number 13!

Perfect Presentation Be Mine ~

Hello ladies!  I'm back today with a new release from Perfect Presentation called Be Mine.  I've combined a few of my stamping favorites on this one - Perfect Presentation, Amber Ink and PaperTrey Ink.  So cute!
It's roomy and super cool because the top flap fits into a notch that holds the whole thing closed!  I used the svg file and cut this little baby out with my Cricut - love that tool!  The Be Mine box is in gray to coordinate with the decorative panels that I stamped.  I used PTI's A Little Argyle and a heart from Bombshell Stamps to create this cute decorative paper.  Let me tell you...it's cute, but such a PITA!!  Each heart is second generation stamping in a rainbow of colors.
It's finished off with the cute Kissing Fluffy Bottoms Bunnies from Amber Ink.  They are fluffy too!  The boy has a white flocked tail and the girl a gray one.  Super easy and quick to color and they pack just the right punch!
Thanks for stopping by again today!  Please stop by the rest of the teams' blogs for some more fantastic inspiration!

Here's the fun part!  One lucky winner from each blog will win a template of your choosing from Perfect Presentation.  Contest will be open through Monday, January 17th.  Get your comment in by midnight for your chance to win!

Have a super duper start to your weekend!!  :o) lyss
CHALLENGES:
Craft Your Days Away #11: Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown #31: Background Stamping

Cupid's Arrow ~

Meet Run Away Cupid!  He's a cute little digi stamp from Make It Crafty.  I was lucky enough to get him as a freebie around Christmas and knew I just had to make a funny card with him.  I searched through my stamps and ended up combining some Kraftin' Kimmie Sassy Sentiments to come up with a cute little saying for the card.
The outside reads "hehe..."  and leads you to the inside that says, "GOTCHA! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do."  lol  I thought it was funny, but then, I have a strange sense of humor!
I have another post coming up today for the new release of Perfect Presentation, so I'm going to list the challenges this goes for and head off!
7 Kids College Fund #12: Hot or Cold   Cupid is HOT, HOT, HOT!!
i{heart}2stamp SFYTT January: sketch {flipped on it's side}
Let's Ink It Up #8: Anything Goes

Amelia iCopic Color Challenge #12 ~

Hey all!  I'm  back today with a little challenge card for the iCopic color challenge #12.  All you have to do is color something up with Copics and make a card, altered item, really whatever you want with it and link it to the iCopic blog.  This challenge runs from Monday, January 10th, through Sunday, January 16th.
This is Amelia from the Greeting Farm's Oliver and Amelia Happy Day rubber stamp set.  She's so fun and spunky!  She is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with soft yellow and melony pink Copics.  I'm not in love with her hair, but that is a goal of mine for 2011 - don't be so scared to color hair!! lol  For a little extra fun and dimension, I added White Opal liquid pearls to her hair ties and the pearls on her necklace.
I wanted to do something fun and stamp the sentiment on the ribbon, but I ran out of room.  Instead, the sentiment is stamped up in the corner with my favorite detail ink - Versafine Onyx Black - and embossed with filigree clear embossing powder.   This sweet little sentiment is from the new SP & Company clear stamp set Rain Boots {I don't see it on the iCopic sight yet, so the link takes you directly to the set at SP & Company stamps.}
The following is a list of additional challenges she qualifies for:

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ~

Hi all!  I'm back today with my first official post for the iCopic Design Team.  You can read my full post here.  For my personal post, I thought I'd just show the card and the challenges I am entering it for.
This is Thursday and I just *had* to have her when she came out!  See, I'm a Thursday's child and I have a hat just like this one!  This sketch is the current sketch over at Jen's blog, i{heart}2stamp.  For the middle panel I used a wide black satin ribbon along with the saddle stitch ribbon and bow - it's a little hard to see.  I added sparkle to her hair, belt buckle and eye shadow to follow along with the Copic Creations challenge #41.  Now I'll be lazy and give you a list of the rest:

Love Bunnies ~

Morning all! Just bopping in with a sweet little Valentine's card. I was so excited to work on something other than Christmas!! lol This uses the cute little Kiss, Kiss - Fluffy Bottoms Love Bunny by Amber Ink as well as the digi Wine Spots iPaper.

These sweet little bunnies are colored with Copics, standing in a fresh color pencil lawn with a gorgeous blue chalked sky.  Their tails are fluffy with white flock.  The girl bunny has a new addition - some eyelashes that I added with a multiliner.  So cute!  The layout is super simple - just some twine tied with a button, some pretty brown pearls in the four corners and some leather scrap hearts made with the Heart Nestabilitie dies by Spellbinders.
The inside is finished off with the Some Bunny <3's You sentiment.  The heart is colored with Copics.  The cute thing about this little sentiment is that the B is actually a bunny!  Adorable!

Since I had so much of the Wine Spots paper left over, I just had to make a little gift box to go along with the card.
I used the svg template, Perfect Parcel, from Perfect Presentation.  It's cut out of kraft cardstock on the Cricut.  I added the leftover iPaper and cut the decorative panels out on the Cricut as well.
The card and parcel needed to coordinate, so I tied the top with twine and a button.  A little 'Love' tag finished it off.  It needed just a bit more and I had some more leather, so I added a trio of leather hearts to the front of the box.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  :o) lyss
