Falling Leaves Keeper Card Set ~

Hey all!  Here's the card set I said I would post today.  This uses the semi-new PTI set Leaf Prints.  Oh, how I love this set!  It's gorgeous!  My inspiration came from the current Embellish Vintage Color Challenge - not sure if this ended up qualifying for the challenge, but what they hay...I'll enter it anyway!
I began this by stamping a 6x6" piece of white cardstock with the larger leaf prints in various ink colors...really any autumnal looking colors I have!  LOL  Just look at the supplies list - it's ridiculous!  I cut it into quarters, sponged the edges, matted them on chocolate paper and adhered them to the 4.25" square card fronts.  During the stamping time, I set up the Cricut to cut out the Label Frames 2 frames for the sentiments.
The sentiments are all from the Autumn Abundance set.  I wrapped some polished hemp twine around the card fronts 3 times and tied a knot through a button of the same color as the card base.  Each little button is snuggled into the curve of the label and the label is up on dimensional foam tape.
Once these were finished, I thought they needed a little something for the presentation.  I used the It's a Keeper template - I love this template because once you're finished with the card set, it still makes a nice focal point on your desk to keep things in.  I keep stamped images to be colored in another one that I've made.

All the decorative panels were stamped, sponged and adhered before assembly.  The base of the Keeper is wrapped with dark brown polished hemp twine (jewelry crafting section at WalMart) with various buttons strung along it.  The last thing I decided to add is the coordinating envelopes using the A2 Envelope Liner file.  Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend wherever you are!  :o) lyss

Congratulations!!  Please email me at acspaper(at)hotmail(dot)com with your choice of template!  You know the drill, just enter the appropriate symbol in for the words and remove the parenthesis.  I've won over a billion dollars just in the last week with spam mail, so I have to try to protect my email account a little bit  ;o)
Now onto the second part of Monday's Perfect Presentation release, the Easy Candy Wrap.  I made two of these for today's post - they're just that easy!  The first uses the fun, whacked-out on candy corn witch from the Eat Cake Graphics set Best Witches.
The template is cut from some buttery Prism cardstock.  I stamped the witch and candy corns in Memento Tuxedo Black randomly across the decorative panel and colored the witch with Copics.  I even colored her shoes and the orange sections of the candy corns.  I covered these with Stickles, and I find that it looks best to my perfectionist eye if the background is colored in first.  LOL  Once everything was colored in, I covered the candy corn in White Opal Liquid Pearls, Orange Peel Stickles and Lemon Yellow Liquid Pearls and the witches shoes in Xmas Red Stickles.  The boy and I have been reading The Wizard of Oz so I guess she just needed some ruby slippers! Ha :o)  The fun ribbon tying off the ends looks like the gradient colors of the candy corn, so I thought it was perfect for this little wrapper.  I wanted to include a little candy corn poem that I found, but I can't seem to get my printer to work.  Ugh...it's always something!  These are so fun and easy to make...just wrap a little DP around it, fill with candy and drop on someone's desk/doorstep.
Another use for these fun wrappers are those small gifts - Hot Wheels, chapstick, stocking stuffer type gifts, jewelry.  How fun would it be to wrap a super sparkly ring inside one of these filled with M&Ms?
This one is super sparkly!  The template is cut from some soft blue Prism cardstock.  I made the DP again by using different sizes of Scor-Tape.  I glitterfied the smaller strips first with a super sparkly ultra fine glitter from my stash and then a dark blue glitter from the Doodlebug glitter pack.  The ends are tied off with various gift wrapping ribbons and curled.  I wanted a little sentiment to be center stage, so I added one from the Make a Wish clear stamp set.  A little embellishment stamp in the set is stamped over the darker blue sentiment.
Ok, since I listed and linked most of the supplies in the post, I'm not going to add a supply list today.  Hope you're all having a fabulous day!  I hope you'll come back tomorrow!  I have a little card gift set I made to submit for publication that didn't get picked up, so you get to see it  :o)  lyss

Perfect Presentation October Release & Candy ~

ETA: Contest now closed.  Thanks for all your fabulous comments!
Hey all!  Perfect Presentation's new release this month is fun!  October brings us a sweet little gift wrapper and a very easy to assemble box both available from The Perfect Presentation shop.
Easy Candy Wrap
Pop'n Top
This is the Pop'n Top.  A great box for soooooo many things!  The template includes a base insert for both a candle and a cupcake.  I chose to try something a little different; last Christmas, Annie, made some bath salts that she put into Christmas ornaments.  What a fabulous, and inexpensive!!, idea!
The ornaments that I chose are a bit on the large side, so I thought I'd try out this template with the candle insert.  Viola!!
The decorative panels are really easy since they are included with the template.  I chose some different (but similar) Basic Grey papers from the Figgy Pudding line.  I didn't want to add to much to this cute little box, so I chose to use another Perfect Presentation file, Label Frames 1.  I re-sized the label to my liking, sponged the edges and set the snowflake embellishment up on a large glue dot.
Before you all hail me as a creative genius, please check out the true genius, Sherry Cheever, at this link.  It really adds a fun element to this wonderful little box.
Now I like to make my templates so they can be reused by the recipient, so I didn't add a sentiment or tag on the outside.  I made a tag for the ornaments with new PTI goodies (seriously, I can't leave these things alone once they hit my doorstep!).  The back of the tag is labeled with the type of bath salts, directions and aromatherapy attributes of the essential oil.

K, so that's all I have for you today!  Please check out the rest of the team for some more fabulous inspiration and more chances at CANDY!!

Fourth Friday Challenge with Paper Garden Projects for October ~

Its Fourth Friday challenge time again!  The holidays are coming and for us crafters its time to get moving. I love the tradition of sending holiday cards, snail mail is such a thing of the past it seems.  So...for this month's challenge - we want to see your Holiday cards. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa - even New Year's - any Holiday card is fair game. The only rule is that you link up a project newly created for this challenge, although feel free to combine it with other current challenges out there in blogland. Although we would love to see all the art you care to share, everyone will be entered in the prize drawing only once. One winner will be drawn randomly to win the prize. You have until midnight (EST) on Saturday, October 30th to link up your project. Just click the little froggy face at the bottom of this post to add your project.
Your prize this month is this super cute Eat Cake Graphics cling stamp. Can't wait to see what you create!

I have a couple of step-daughters, one is pre-teen and one is full on teenager.  So I like to make a couple of non-traditional/fun/unexpected colored cards for the holidays.  I used the colors in the snowflake and ornament papers of the Cottage Christmas paper by Imaginisce to color in the mittens, hat and scarf of this cute little snowman.
This cute little snowman is from the Christmas Delight set.  He is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  Before stamping him, I rubbed his little nose off, so I could add the carrot image that's included in the set. The shading in the snowman needed to be subtle, so I used soft grays and a nice aqua to shade and highlight areas.  The lines were really stark, so I used the blender pen to soften the edges of the lines.  I think that qualifies this for the Copic Creations Challenge #37 {Colorless Blender Tricks}.  The sketch is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #96.  I tried and tried and tried to add the second rectangle layer and couldn't find anything that suited me...too busy on an already busy card.  The white sheer swiss dot ribbon represents that layer for me.  It needed to stand out a bit more, so I colored alternating dots with R35 and YR15 Copics to match the snowman.  The bow is tied and topped with a Berry Sorbet/Snowflake button combo.   WooHoo!   That's one fun, bright card down for the holidays!
Thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to stop by all the other Gardener's blogs {links in my sidebar on the right} for some wonderful holiday inspiration and join in on the challenge!  Check out the Paper Garden Projects store too for some fabulous end of season deals - Summer Stamps, Buttons, Brads and Ribbons all 20% off!  Have a great weekend!  I hope to have a post for you tomorrow...we'll see if the munchkin will stay out of my hair long enough today! :o) lyss

Baby Overload ~

During the latest Wplus9 release, I was drooling over the cards made by Dawn with the new Poinsettia Patterns.  I pondered whether or not I really needed it since I already have PTI's Guidelines, Guidelines II and Giga Guidelines {blush}.  I had to have it!  I ordered right away and already have made 11 cards with it!! lol  Guess it's already paid for itself  :o)
When I saw the new Color Cue challenge, I just had to stamp out a new baby card.  My friend that owns the baby store has been asking for some new cards, so I've been making a lot of baby cards lately...you could say I'm on baby overload!  Baby girl overload - apparently, none of the boy cards sell.  ???   It's fun though when I make them quick and easy like this!

This card is pretty self explanatory.  I just stamped the larger image in sweet blush across the page, then added the smallest image of the set in Smokey Shadow after stamping it off on scrap paper once.  The sentiment is mounted on a couple little leaf looking dies from the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis pendant die set.
Have a super Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!  :o) lyss

Holiday Garden Walk ~

It will be holiday time before you know it! We thought we'd get you in the spirit with a little Holiday Garden Walk. So go get some hot chocolate, pull up a chair and take a fun little holiday tour.

While you visit, take note of each designer's name and their special holiday decoration in their blog post. Once you finish your garden tour, send an E-mail to custserv@papergardenprojects.com with the list of designers and their garden walk decoration.
Everyone who sends the correct list of designers and words will be entered in a random drawing to win a prize. You need to send an e-mail to the address above; please don't leave your list as a comment. You have until midnight (EST) on Friday, October 22 to send your list.
The prize this month is the complete collection of Woodland Whimsy Digital stamps - all 4 sets.

Holidays = family, friends, good food, decorations, ornaments, lights, and, for me, wine!  I love my wine...my hubby thinks I get a little too know-it-all-ish when I drink it though. lol  However, I have a bunch of friends that love their wine too, so I thought the perfect and simple gift for the holidays is a nice bottle of wine and a new wine key.
I used the new Crafter's Companion Christmas Delight stamp set from the Cute Companions line for this.  The sweet little mouse is carrying a gift here, but you can have her carrying a lantern, a flag, a cake or a couple of other little goodies.
Since this is a simple gift, she is holding a simple gift...I merely inked up only the top present on the stack of presents to put in her hand.
She is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in with Copics.  I trimmed around her with some fussy cut scissors that I've had since I was about 8 - a story for another time!
The tag is made by resizing the Perfect Presentation template Holding Pattern.  Just make sure to check the box in SCAL that keeps the proportions and resize to your heart's content!  I took the original down an inch in width and then down an inch in width in both the 1/2 inch pocket and the decorative mat.  The background is stamped with the star image from the set in VersaMark Dazzle ink for a fun bit of shine.  The decorative mat is cut from the Imaginisce Cottage Christmas pack.  A little knot made with the sheer white swiss dotted ribbon, a red matte button and a snowflake, {all 20% off right now!!}, complete the tag!
I hope you've enjoyed my stop along the hop!  I'm the last one, so send your email with our decorative words on to Cathy {all info above in italics} for your chance at the fabulous digi pack prize!  Oh, and just in case you didn't catch it...my word is LIGHTS.  If you're starting at my blog, here is the garden tour guide list. Hope you have a Holly Jolly time!

Perfect Presentation Holding Pattern ~

Hello!  Remember the Holding Pattern template sample I promised you a couple weeks ago??  Well, I finally got it finished!  I'm so in love with this simple little template and I'll show you why!
I started with some Rustic White cardstock as the base and decided to dress it up a bit with October Afternoon Thrift Shop papers.  I just resized the template by 1/4" in SCAL and cut away.  It was a little short for the whole base piece, so a strip of twill tape was added across the bare spot.  The template comes with both a 1/2" pocket (perfect for holding some Copics for a crafty friend.  Hint! Hint!) or a 1 1/2" pocket as well as the decorative mat.  A nice little bow tied with a couple strands threaded through a Berry Sorbet button make this a fun find for someone coming into the office or coming home from a long day.  These door hangers would be perfect for the Secret Santa games that people like to play too!
Another idea I had for these are simple door hangers to remind people not to ring the doorbell!  My little guy is such a light sleeper...my mom would always just get him down for a nap when someone would come to the door.  Too bad I didn't think of making her one of these before he stopped napping! lol  Of all the baby stamps I have, I don't have one that says Shh... or Baby Sleeping.  I created the sentiment on the computer and printed it out in a few sizes.  The larger sentiment was then cut with classic circle nesties and stamped with the feet from an older SU set, I'm Here.  The smaller sentiment is layered on a frame cut from the Perfect Presentation file Label Frames 2.  I cut it in Aqua Mist and didn't like how all the colors went together, so I smooshed an Ocean Tides ink pad over it to get whatever color that is!
That's all I have for you today, but I'll be back with the Paper Garden Projects Garden Walk on Saturday.  Our focus this month is the Holidays, so pull on your Santa hat and get ready for some amazing projects from all the gardeners!  Have a fabulous day!!  :o) lyss

Autumn Fairy Mojo ~

Hey all!  Sorry I'm not around much these days.  Having my crafty space away from home is proving to be a true struggle  - I can't play as often as I'd like!  Plus, I just switched my computers and don't have the internet over there now, so my SCAL and printer don't work.  Very frustrating!  I'm going to have to break down and buy a modem so that I can feel connected to the world again!  Anyway, on to the card...
This sweet little fairy was inspired by the Copic Creations blog.  Their challenge for this go round is the color orange.  I just happened to have my Copics and some images at home with me and colored this lady up.  Isn't she fun?!  I just love the little impish grin on her face.  She's super sparkly in person too because I used my new Copic Spica pens (40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby!!) on her face and wings.
The layout is this week's Mojo Monday sketch, #159.  It's flipped because of how the fairy is faced.  The background paper is made with the Leaves Plain Jane stamp from Verve.  I really wanted this fairy to remain in the spotlight, so I kept the rest of this really, really simple.  In fact, I don't think I've ever done a white on white card before.  It was hard!! lol  Honestly, for how simple this card is, I spent a lot of time trying different things out.  I used Julee's sample as an inspiration and scored a frame 1/4" in on the card base.  It's hard to see in the photo...sorry!
I made a little flower embellishment by stamping a couple of different floral images from Verve's Fancy Florals in Ranger Spiced Marmalade and embossing them.  Each little layer is up on a very, very thin dimensional.  I then used the Lemon Spica pen to add a little shine.  It needed just a tid bit more, so pearls came to the rescue.
The inside is finished with a verse from Verve's Beautiful You set.  Good words to live by!  The happy birthday sentiment is from PTI's Damask Designs - the two aren't exactly the same font but work together well.  The same frame is scored on the inside of the card.  It needed just a bit of color, so I stamped some more flowers in the Spiced Marmalade ink.    Whew!  I guess I'm a little windy today too.  Sorry about that!  Thanks for sticking with me.  This card completes the challenges for Mojo Monday Sketch #159, Copic Creations #36 {orange}, Crazy 4 Challenges #58 {Birthday}, Cute Card Thursday #133 {Make your own embellishments}, Color Me Copic {coloring clothes} and Crafty Goings On {to color an image with Copics for the chance at some yummy Copics - link on sidebar}.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you all are getting crafty somewhere!  :o) lyss
