A couple more...

Here are a couple more of the baby cards that I made to go to my friend's store. I initially made them as a set of 10 - to be sold as either thank you's, announcements or shower invites. I then decided to poll my lady friends and see what they would be willing to pay for a set. The most I could realistically get would be $20 - 25 retail. I don't think I will be doing these in sets, unfortunately. The base is SU Basic Gray with a mat of Night of Navy, then a PTI white that I ran through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I seriously don't know what I would do without this thing! I love it! I used my classic oval (small & large) nestabilities to create the layering for the focal point - top is garden green, night of navy & white; bottom is night of navy, brocade blue & white. The onesies are from the PTI set Bitty Baby blessings. They are stamped on SU DP Prestwick (retired, I think), cut out and adhered to the white oval directly. Each little elephant and ducky were stamped, colored with Copics and cut out, then mounted to the onesie with a rolled up glue dot. Baby was stamped with PTI's Mixed Messages. Then I stamped the larger elephants and duckies, colored them, cut them out and put fun flock on them. The ducks also have a little Glossy Accents on the beaks. The inside is matted with white which is stamped a couple of times with the smaller animals. I guess because of all the time involved, I would rather sell a card for a bit more than $2 a pop. What do you all think?
Before I go, I have to send you on over to Bev's blog. She has two amazing candy draws going on. Hope you all have a fantastic Sunday! Thank you for stopping by! :o) lyss

Baby bear

I'm about to conquer something new in my life that will probably end up being more work than I ever imagined! Ha! A very good friend of mine is starting a high-end baby store and is interested in selling my cards! Yay! Over the next week or so, I'll be showing you a couple of the samples that I sent her with.

Here are two of the cards I sent with her as samples so she could get her partners *on board*. I used the little bear from the CC Designs set Bear Hugs - gotta love that little guy/gal (in this case). :) she is colored in with my Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen. I drew in the grass, and no, I am not very artistic - which is why I have to rely so much on stamps! The card base is PTI Sweet Blush in a 4.25" square. Mounted atop that is a 4" square piece of PTI vellum (top) and linen vellum (bottom). The frame is made from a gorgeous Verve set, Grateful Elegance. It is stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white ep. I had to use a post it note at an angle to get nice corners. The sentiment is also from Verve, Beautiful You. It has a ton of really great sayings that were chosen by the DT members for Verve's anniversary. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch. Now, I just have to decide how much to sell these little babies for. Since I always make my cards, I don't know how much people are willing to buy them for!!
Now for a little blog candy post - a requirement for entering. I am excited to see the new Charlotte and Charlie Whiff of Joy stamps! Here's a link to Katharina's blog where you can enter for yourself and a little sneaky peeky at one of her colored images.
Have a great afternoon! If I'm lucky, I'll get in a little stamping time to participate in the challenges to be entered in for more of the Papertrey Ink goodies! :o) Cross your fingers for me! ~lyss

PTI Sketch Challenge

I have to get this up quickly, as the oven timer is dinging in the background; however, I want to be in the running for the incredible giveaway that is happening over at Nichole's blog. It's a Papertrey Ink sketch challenge for all their ribbon, including the new colors being released!! I may come back and edit this more later, but I think it's pretty straight forward. Sorry for the over-exposed pic! Have a great weekend! :o) lyss
