February SFYTT ~

I’m slipping this in just under the wire!!  I have dinner cooking on the stove and need to get back to it, so no details just now…I’ll have to bop back on tomorrow and share a couple of things.  Here’s my interpretation:

ETA: This little cutie is Henry Celebrating Mouse from Whiff of Joy.  I colored him up ages ago and have finally put him on a card.  The frosting on the cupcake is white opal Liquid Pearls.  I didn't have any white buttons that matched, so I covered some clear buttons with the LP as well.  The flame has some yellow and orange glitter on it and I also smudged some yellow pearlescent chalk around it.

A little detail of the coloring and customized buttons
Thanks so much for stopping by!  :o) lyss

WCMD Winner Blog Hop ~

Happy Friday to you all!  Welcome to the Paper Crafts magazine and World Card Making Day Winners blog hop!  We have some great inspiration and some wonderful giveaways for you today!  If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from the Paper Crafts blog! I’m the first stop on this hop – you've started out on the right track!
I was surprised and honored to find that I had been chosen as a winner...a few days after the initial winners were chosen.  On an incredible act of honesty and integrity, one of the winners stepped down and I was chosen as the fifth winner in the category.  You can read about it here.
For my project today, I was inspired by my card that was picked.  I chose to use the same earthy tones as a jumping board for my card.  Here is a little peek at the winner
And here is the card I made especially for today!

I used the negative die cut space of the butterfly as my pop of color.  I’ve been seeing a lot of this around blogland, so I thought I’d give it a go myself.  Also, many have been adding some shading to solid stamped images – I don’t know who started the trend, but it’s genius!  So much more depth and dimension!  For a finishing touch, I added some glossy accents to the little berries.  Thanks so much for bopping on by!  Here are the details of the hop:
